Multiuser MISO PS-SWIPT Systems: Active or Passive RIS?
نویسندگان
چکیده
Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-based communication networks promise to improve channel capacity and energy efficiency. However, the promised gains could be negligible for passive RISs because of double pathloss effect. Active can overcome this issue they have reflector elements with a low-cost amplifier. This letter studies active RIS-aided simultaneous wireless information power transfer (SWIPT) in multiuser system. The users exploit splitting (PS) decode harvest simultaneously based on realistic piecewise nonlinear harvesting model. goal is minimize base station (BS) transmit by optimizing its beamformers, PS ratios, RIS phase shifts/amplification factors. simulation results show significant improvements (e.g., 19% 28%) maximum reflect 10 mW 15 mW, respectively, compared without higher computational complexity cost. We also robustness proposed algorithm against imperfect state information.

Robust Downlink Beamforming for Multiuser MISO SWIPT Systems ⋆
In this paper, we studies robust downlink beamforming for a multiuser multiple-input single-output (MISO) simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system when only imperfect knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) is available at the transmitter. Specifically, we exploit two different models to describe CSI errors: a) deterministic bounded and b) stochastic random. ...
متن کاملOn Secrecy Performance of MISO SWIPT Systems in the Presence of Imperfect Channel State Information
In this work, a multiple-input single-output (MISO) simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system including one base station (BS) equipped with multiple antennas, one desired single-antenna information receiver (IR) and N (N > 1) single-antenna energy-harvesting receivers (ERs) is considered. Assuming that the information signal to the desired IR may be eavesdropped by ERs...
متن کاملThe NHTSA’s Evaluation of Automobile Safety Systems: Active or Passive
Since the first Ford Model T rolled off the assembly line, the regulation of automobile safety systems (“safety systems”) has changed drastically. While the regulation of safety systems was nonexistent at the birth of the Model T, the practice is abundant today. Modern automobile safety regulation saw its beginning in the late 1960s with the advent of seat belt laws, vehicle crashworthiness tes...
متن کاملProbability-constrained Power Optimization for Multiuser MISO Systems with Imperfect CSI: A Bernstein Approximation Approach
We consider power allocations in downlink cellular wireless systems where the basestations are equipped with multiple transmit antennas and the mobile users are equipped with single receive antennas. Such systems can be modeled as multiuser MISO systems. We assume that the multi-antenna transmitters employ some fixed beamformers to transmit data, and the objective is to optimize the power alloc...
متن کاملPerceived Exertion: An Active or Passive Process?
Subjective estimates of physical work intensity are considered of major importance to those concerned with prescription of exercise. This article reviews major theoretical models which might guide research on the antecedents for ratings of perceived exertion (RPE). It is argued that an active rather than passive view of perception is warranted in future research, and a parallel-processing model...
